Legacy Nights Classes

  • climbing prayer Mountain

One of the key ways that Disciples GROW is through prayer. We will be studying Tim Spykstra’s book Climbing Prayer Mountain. Forty short daily devotionals will help us develop healthy prayer habits as we learn from the prayer lives of Moses, Elijah, Jesus, and Peter and John. Let’s learn and grow together through prayer.

  • Armor of God– Priscilla Shier

All day, every day, an invisible war rages around you — unseen, unheard, yet felt throughout every aspect of your life. A devoted, devilish enemy seeks to wreak havoc on everything that matters to you: your heart, your mind, your marriage, your children, your relationships, your resilience, your dreams, your destiny. But his battle plan depends on catching you unaware and unarmed. If you're tired of being pushed around and caught with your guard down, this study is for you.

  • What’s it like to be at the River and Me

God has called us to welcome others into our lives so that we can share God’s love together. That’s what disciples do. It can be challenging to welcome others if we don’t first understand each other better. We want to explore understanding more deeply.  Sharon Greene and James Taylor are going to help us better understand their experiences of faith within the River community. They are African American and want to share more of their lives in how they worship, their upbringing, their perspectives and their hopes with our community. This will be a forum moderated by Pastor Scott. There will be opportunities to ask questions and more deeply understand how God has made each of us unique and how we also share so much with each other.

  • Craft Group

Join the women’s crafting group for a time of fellowship and crafting. The group makes a different craft each week.

  • Grace Based Parenting - Atmosphere of Grace

This is a fun, refreshing small group study that gives parents a realistic job description for raising spiritually strong children who grow up with a sense of calm and a heart full of purpose. As you watch the DVD and use the helpful discussion guide, you will learn to meet your children’s inner heart needs and grant the four freedoms that can make an atmosphere of grace a permanent condition in your home.
