Hospitality Ministry Team Member Job Description

General Summary:
The hospitality team will oversee the operations of all hospitality and Care Ministries at The River
Requirements:
Each team member must have a servant's heart. As a team member of this ministry it is important to be alert to church body needs and ways to serve those needs. You will also coordinate the activities involving hospitality and Care Ministries and investigate new ways to outsource and pay for services when necessary.
Responsibilities:
New Moms Ministry
A list of expectant mothers and their due dates will kept at the front desk. This list will be compiled mainly by word of mouth, so please notify the front desk if you hear of someone expecting.
Provide a "New Mother" basket to all new mothers after delivery.
Purchase the items necessary for "New Mother" baskets.
Offer, coordinate and assign the delivery of 3 meals to the new mother and her family.
Under special circumstances (i.e. multiples, sickness) more meals may be arranged.
The meal may be brought to the church office where it will be kept in the freezer until the baby is born then delivered by a member of the hospitality team as a gift from "The River."
Mom2Mom Ministry
Oversee this ministry which was designed to provide a connection for mothers with young children.
Meal Ministry
Create an annual meal calendar which will allow each family or individual member to sign up for a date in which they would be responsible for making and delivering a meal to the person or persons in need of meals.
The meal may also be brought to the church office in advance where it will be kept in the freezer and delivered to the individual/s if needed.
The meal should be put in a disposable pan and labeled with what it is and cooking instructions.
Provide grocery delivery to individual/s who are unable to shop for themselves.
Transportation Ministry
Provide transportation to individual/s who cannot drive themselves to special appointments (i.e. doctor, diagnostic test, lawyer, etc…)
Shower Ministry
Create a new shower ministry designed to shower the new mother or soon to be married couple with gifts from the church body.
House Cleaning Ministry
Provide temporary light-duty house cleaning assistance to individual/s who are unable to clean their homes themselves due to temporary illness or condition.
Recently Widowed Ministry
Develop a ministry to help support newly widowed men or women transition through the first 3 months of losing their spouse.
