legacy nights

Legacy Nights meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month. It is a time for all to come together for fellowship and grow as disciples of Christ.

Legacy Nights begins with a provided dinner each meeting at 5:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall, with a variety of classes, children's programs, and youth programs following at 6:15 pm.

Legacy Nights Classes

  • The Parent Session: Talking About Current Realities and Our Children

In these “drop-in” sessions various parenting topics will be addressed through presentations and discussion.  Each week will focus on a different topic making it ideal for participants to pick and choose which classes they may want to attend.  Examples of topics are: Our Children’s Generation, Children and Technology, The Whole Brain Child, Our Children’s Love Language, Creating Faith Filled Days, and many others to be announced at a later date.

  • Financial Peace University

9-week, 9-lesson class that teaches you how to win with money. FPU has helped over  5 million people learn how to get out of debt.  The fee for this class is $100. Contact Debbie Bueermann in the church office for more information on the class.

  • Mentoring the next generation

One of the challenges that faces our culture is that many children have few, if any, mature people in their lives to mentor them.

Mentoring is something that is intentional, learned and life changing for both the person being mentored and the one mentoring.

Augustin Avantes (the River’s intern from Cal Baptist University) is an experienced social worker who has been leading mentoring classes for years.  He’s helped many parents, coaches, teachers and others learn more about intentionally engaging in the life of a young person in ways that express love, encouragement, support and challenge.  He and Pastor Scott will be leading this six week class where you will gain skills, tools, and understanding about how to be part of God’s transformation in the many different young people that you have in your life.

  • Walking Ministry

This ministry offers participants a great way to fellowship with others while getting some exercise.  A list with walking routes and distances will be offered.  If you are a beginner  there is an easy half mile walking route, or if you want to walk one, two or three miles those routes will also be available.  This ministry may not go all the way through December, and will be determined by daylight visibility and safety precautions.

  • Crafting Group

Join the women’s crafting group for a time of fellowship and crafting. The group makes a different craft each week.  Occasional donation requested to cover costs of supplies.
