We're glad to announce that the council has decided to return to a single morning service on Sundays, bringing us all together at the same time each week. Beginning on July 4, 2021, we will be meeting at 9:30am in the sanctuary. We will continue to offer the live stream and an alternative location to view the service, either on the patio or in the fellowship hall (depending on the weather). Worship in the sanctuary and children's programs will be masks optional.
July 4, we also restart Family Sunday on the first Sunday of each month which means all children will be joining us in the sanctuary for the service (nursery will still be provided).
We will also return to celebrating the Lord’s Supper on the 1st Sunday of every month. If you are comfortable receiving prepared bread and juice, the elders will be standing at the front of the sanctuary to distribute the elements. The communion pre-packs will continue to be available to those who would like to use them during the celebration.
A couple of important things as we enter this new season of worship:
-We can and should rejoice in our continuing to reunite in worship on the same campus. We praise God together that the pandemic situation continues to improve. God is faithful.
-There continue to be different opinions among us as we gather together. May we love and respect each other well in those differences. May we be sensitive to each other and respect that some may be more ready to shake hands or converse indoors while others will continue to wear their masks and feel more comfortable in fellowship outdoors. We love each other well when we respect and honor each other in what we believe and how we express that belief.
-Leadership will continue their dialogue and take appropriate steps to make space for all as we worship. We ask that you continue to pray for us as we discern how God is calling the River to glorify him and share his love with the world around us.
We look forward to worshiping together!
