For Today and This Week
Read 1 Samuel 3:1–21, paying special attention to Samuel’s response to God: “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.”
God speaks not only to inform us, but to form us. Through His Word, our worship, our prayers, and the songs we sing, God shapes who we are and how we respond to Him.
As you read this week, consider two questions:
What is God saying?
How is God forming me through what He is saying?

Day 3 — “Take My Life” — Chris Tomlin
Song Lyric of Focus
“Here am I all of me, Take my life it's all for Thee“
Theme: Discipleship requires surrender
Road map:
Belonging to Christ and seeing Christ clearly eventually leads somewhere: surrender. Discipleship isn't simply learning more about Jesus. It is allowing Him to take ownership of every part of our lives—our time, gifts, relationships, ambitions, work, and resources.
Reflection:
Jesus doesn't call us merely to admire Him; He calls us to follow Him. That means placing our whole lives in His hands. “Take My Life” gives language to the daily surrender that discipleship requires. God builds His church when ordinary people say, “Lord, take what I have and use it for Your purposes.” Our gifts become ministry, our relationships become opportunities to disciple, and our lives become instruments in God's hands.
Romans 12:1-2 says…
12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Key take away: A disciple doesn't simply give Jesus part of life—discipleship means offering Him our whole life.
