Read Philippians 2:9-11

The other day, I was driving home with my three boys. We were passing by a farm where longhorn cattle are raised. The horns on these cows are absolutely massive and the boys love to look at them. My five-year-old asked how the horns had gotten so big and I responded with a phrase that I say quite often to my young children: “because God made them that way.” He thought for a second and said “It’s God magic!” The word “magic” may have a complicated connotation, but I love the thought behind his words. God is sovereign over all creation. There is “God magic” all around us if we take a moment to recognize it. Our text today talks about how every knee will bow at the name of Jesus. “Every knee in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” God the Father exalted Jesus with him to the highest place to give him that authority. When we follow Jesus, the Holy Spirit works in our hearts in sometimes unexpected ways. I guarantee that whether you have followed God for 5 days or 50 years, you recognize “God magic” in your past. You can look back and see how God has been at work in your life and done things that you never would have expected. Today, think about how the Spirit has moved in extraordinary ways in your life and ask him to be present in your future.
