Read Psalm 82

There are things in which we can prevent. For example, with the ongoing buildup of the record breaking El Nino, meteorologist are certain that this rain season is going to shatter records. If you live near a hillside that in the last couple of years have caught fire, you know there is some added stress when you hear of heavy rainfall. So, what does one do? They prepare by making sandbags to cover the bottom of doorways and garage doors, clean the gutters, and make sure all the drains are empty of debris. Sometimes, storms come without warning, and you must deal with the damage as it comes.

There are times in which we can help people who are facing trials in ways that can prevent further despair, however there are times where we show up when the story is still on going. How we respond, matters. God calls on those with power and the ability to defend the weak and the fatherless. Using our resources and abilities that God has given us to serve those around us is another way we worship. As you go through your day, ask God to show you ways to serve those around you.
